 Fredrik_Andersson Fredrik Andersson has a PhD in protein biochemistry from Gothenburg University, Sweden. After the doctoral studies Fredrik started a post-doctoral position at the University of Cambridge (UK) where he studied protein fibrillation in amyloid diseases using biophysical techniques. Fredrik has since 2010 worked as an Application Scientist at Biolin Scientific for the Q-Sense product brand.
  Robert Sedlock is the Director of Technical Training and Development for Natoli Engineering Company.  He has been serving the industry for over 18 years in the tablet compression arena.  His early experience spans strain gauge force measurement technology and data acquisitions systems.  Mr Sedlock has many published technical papers for Tablets & Capsules Magazine and the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientist.  Areas of expertise include instrumentation systems, formulation development, compression studies and scale up. Mr Sedlock is currently involved in many training seminars including post graduate tablet courses hosted by many Universities worldwide.  His current responsibilities include tool designs, solid dosage troubleshooting at customer sites or at the Natoli Institute of Industrial Pharmacy R&D at Long Island University.
 Paul_De_Smet  Paul De Smet holds a pharmacist degree from the University of Leuven, Belgium and a degree in Industrial Pharmacy from the same university. He joined Collette-Belgium (GEA Pharma Systems) in 1983, first as Laboratory Manager, later in the position of Sales Director. During his years at Collette, he was involved in the development of the ‘single pot’ high shear mixer-granulator and vacuum dryer. He currently is Area Sales and Account Manager with GEA Pharma Systems and responsible for the promotion of pharmaceutical equipment produced by the member companies of GEA Pharma Systems. Mr De Smet has published several articles in the field of ‘solids’ production and is a frequent speaker at seminars. His expertise is in granulation/drying technology and tablet compression.
 Paul_Heng Paul Heng has a degree in Pharmacy and PhD in Pharmaceutics. He is currently teaching at the Department of Pharmacy, National University of Singapore and is the Principal Investigator of GEA-NUS Pharmaceutical Processing Research Laboratory. Dr Heng has an adjunct appointment with the Institute of Chemical and Engineering Sciences, an A*STAR institute among others. His research interest is in pharmaceutical technologies, with focus on encapsulation, specialized delivery systems, particle characterization and processing. He has over 240 international refereed research journal articles and several book chapters among others. He is the editor-in-chief of the Asian J Pharm Sci. and member of several other journal editorial boards.
 Yosuke_Honda  Yosuke Honda has been working in Asahi Chemical since March 1986. He is currently with the Ceolus R&D Department. Previously, he was with industrial engineering and had been involved in the construction of the new Ceolus production plant. He was also involved in the development of the high performance MCC grades, UF and KG.
 Ramil_Janda  Ramil Janda is a Pharmacist by profession who graduated at the University of Santo Tomas Manila, Philippines. His first job was at Pascual Laboratories, a top 2 local pharmaceutical company in the Philippines, as a formulator in the R&D department for 2 years before moving to the production section as the processing supervisor for 5 years. Ramil joined Rudolf Lietz Inc, a trading company in the Philippines, as a technical assistant sales manager from 1999 until 2009, responsible primarily for Colorcon business in the Philippines. In 2010, Ramil joined Colorcon Asia-Pacific as Area Technical Manager responsible for Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand markets.  Ramil was promoted to Senior Area Technical Manager in 2013.
 Gregory_Martiska  Gregory Martiska is the president of Mercury Scientific Inc., a company specializing in the manufacturer of instruments to measure powder flow properties founded in 2001. Mr Martiska has been in the scientific instrument field for 28 years and has been working on powder applications for 20 years. He has two patents for powder flow analysis instruments and a third patent pending for powder charge analysis. Mr. Martiska is a graduate of the University of Connecticut with a degree in Chemistry.
 Dilwyn_Patterson  Dilwyn Patterson was educated at the University of Manchester, UK where he graduated with a PhD in materials science. He is currently the Technical Manager / Area Sales Manager for GEA Pharma Systems with technical support for the design of Aeromatic-Fielder process equipment and systems including sales in Ireland, Japan, Korea and Taiwan. The role also incorporates on site trouble shooting and providing process assistance. His previous jobs include Sales Manager for Asia and Australasia, 1994-99, and UK and Ireland, 1989-94. Dilwyn has worked with the pharmaceutical industry for 25 years supplying granulation, drying, pelletizing and coating equipment and systems; and during this time has gained considerable experience in each of these technologies. He regularly gives lectures / presentations at seminars and academic courses.
   Michael Prior graduated in Chemical Engineering from The University of Manchester UK in 1971, and is a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers. He has worked in the powder processing industry for over 40 years, specializing in agglomeration, compaction, size reduction, air classification, and powder mixing. For compaction, he has been involved in the design and supply of many systems in US, Europe and Asia. In the UK, Michael worked for the Hosokawa Micron Group, as General Manager, becoming Managing Director in 1991. For five years he was also Managing Director of Hosokawa India. From 2000 – 2013, Michael was based in the US, initially as President of Hosokawa Powder Processing. For the past eleven years he was with The Fitzpatrick Company, as Vice President Global Business Development, and now acts as a consultant for Fitzpatrick and other companies.
   Chalermphon Wanawongthai received his PhD from Chiba University, Japan. His has Bachelor degree of Pharmacy from Silpakorn University, Thailand. He is a recipient of Japanese government grant to pursue his PhD program in Japan. For 3 years, he has been part of the solid dosage form R&D formulation team of Thailand’s government pharmaceutical organisation. Prior PhD, he was a lecturer in Silpakorn University, Thailand. Currently, he is Meggle Singapore’s technical application manager. Dr Wanawongthai’s primary responsibilities include providing technical and formulation assistance to pharmaceutical manufacturers from South-East Asian countries.
